Dear S.P.O.R.T.S. Friends and Colleagues,
Last week we were disappointed to learn that indoor meetings in Colorado Springs have been restricted to 100 people or less—effectively making it logistically impossible to host S.P.O.R.T.S. The Relationship Conference on September 28th as originally planned.
Throughout the last few months we’ve remained optimistic about our late-September dates and have proceeded with plans to host a smaller, socially distanced event. The response has been amazing and we are grateful to all who have remained committed and enthusiastic to join us in Colorado Springs.
With these new restrictions in place, however, we cannot guarantee the one thing that our attendees trust us above all else to deliver – namely an environment that fosters relationship building and lasting business connections along with the opportunity for attendees to engage with each other in a relaxed and fun-spirited setting. We also must consider the potential for additional restrictions to be implemented in the coming weeks that would increase the likelihood of a last-minute cancelation due to forces outside of our control.
At this point, we simply cannot ask our attendees and sponsors to continue to invest their precious time and limited resources in an event that may not live up to our own high expectations.
Instead, our team will focus on delivering an amazing event in “Olympic City” next fall where we’ll be able to reunite with even more of our sports industry friends and colleagues and take full advantage of everything Colorado Springs has to offer. Stay tuned for specific dates and detailed information on a full S.P.O.R.T.S. return in 2021.
We also want to give a special shout out to our conference sponsors listed below whose commitment and passion for our industry is unsurpassed. They have courageously stuck with us throughout these uncertain months and will be there to “wow” and delight you with all sorts of fun and unique sponsored activities in 2021. There is no doubt we are all #StrongerTogether because of each of them.
Lastly, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Sherri, Kaitlyn, Amy or me with any questions or concerns regarding your participation in S.P.O.R.T.S. 2020. We are committed to fulfilling our promise to transfer fees associated with this year’s event to 2021 without penalty (effectively locking in your 2020 rates) or providing full refunds upon request.
Again, thank you for your support and your continued commitment to the sports event industry. We plan to do our part to keep morale high and look forward to working collectively with you to rebuild confidence and advocate for the power of sports events to help grow our economies once this crisis is over.
With sincere appreciation and gratitude,
Director of Operations, Conferences & Events
